Based on dozens of portfolio company journeys, this session will describe the power of “setting the intent” and living the long-range plan versus “wandering in the wilderness” from one approved budget and quarterly forecast to the next. Whether reaching for the elusive 10x-er, hitting a triple, pulling off the transformative pivot, or salvaging excellence among macro headwinds, there will be a liquidity event. In this session, we will discuss concrete CEO techniques designed to navigate the journey and maximize results.

One key marker of a great CEO is the ability to identify, assess, and close great talent. In fact, PE industry data tells us CEOs typically replace at least 1/3 of their direct reports on the way to their successful “Exit Team”. So, interviewing and closing skills matter. In this working session, our team of experts from Talgo provide a proven, scalable hiring approach relevant to the PE environment and which will build interviewing skills and improve hiring outcomes.

The Campfire Sessions provide the opportunity for the portfolio company CEOs to have small group discussions without Great Hill Partners, where topics are proposed and led by you (our attendees). It will give our attendees a great opportunity to get to know each other and share wisdom.

Hear from GHP CEOs discussing their journeys from onboarding to operating/scaling and successful exit. We will discuss how to build a process, the steps required to prepare for exit and how to manage the company during the process. They will share lessons learned and what they wish they had known/done differently and what made them ultimately successful.
